SPILL CENTER-CHEMTREC
GROUP REGISTRATION PROGRAM
COMPLY WITH FEDERAL HAZMAT TRANSPORTATION REGULATIONS

|
To provide an extended range of services, Spill Center works closely with CHEMTREC®, the Chemical Transportation Emergency Center of the American Chemistry Council. Backed by the world's largest network of chemical experts, CHEMTREC brings a wealth of information and experience in chemical handling. More than 2.8 million MDSDs are stored in a database for immediate access.
Spill Center works with CHEMTREC to determine which chemicals are involved in a spill, how to protect those at the scene, how to mitigate the incident, and provide seamless incident management.
Shippers and carriers of hazardous materials can benefit from the combined resources of both centers of hazmat expertise through the Spill Center-CHEMTREC Group Registration Program (GRP). The GRP is a cost-effective way to comply with Federal DOT Regulations while reducing risk, containing costs and limiting liability associated with spills.
CHEMTREC-Spill Center Group registrants receive an unmatched array of services and benefits, including access to a 24-hour Communications Call Center and emergency response information, plus support from chemical product safety specialists and Spill Center compliance associates.
As a GRP registrant, you receive a GRP Spill Contingency Plan®, custom-tailored to your company's needs with detailed spill-handling and reporting instructions to keep you well prepared to properly handle accidental spills, even at night, on weekends and on holidays, anywhere in North America.
In the event of a spill, one toll-free call (or e-mail message) alerts the support staffs of both Spill Center and CHEMTREC. Your contingency plan is activated by Spill Center staff, trained to keep your company in compliance with all regulations and avoid unnecessary costs. Requests for information from emergency responders at spill sites are handled professionally by CHEMTREC, and loss information is transmitted electronically to Spill Center .
Spill Center provides contact and referral information on more than 3,000 private cleanup contractors throughout North America along with assistance in developing a cleanup and disposal plan. Required reports are completed, and the entire notification and cleanup process is documented to avoid third-party claims. Spill Center can also negotiate down any unreasonable invoices received from emergency responders, cleanup contractors and other service providers.
