SPILL CENTER
AT E-SAFETY
CONFERENCE THIS
WEEK
Hudson, Mass. -- Tom Moses,
president of Spill
Center, will discuss new technologies
and systems
for improving hazardous materials
security and
emergency response management
at a conference
in Washington, D.C. this week.
The conference, e-Safety: Delivering Communica-
tions and Information Technology
Solutions for 21st
Century Public Safety, is
Thursday, June 6, at the
Ronald Reagan Building and
International Trade
Center.
Moses, an environmental attorney,
former EPA
toxicologist and founder of
Spill Center, was invited
to participate in the conference
as a panelist in a
session entitled Hazardous
Materials: Transport,
Tracking and Emergency Events.
Earlier this month
he spoke at the National Tank
Truck Carriers Con-
ference in San Francisco.
Spill Center, a leading hazmat
support and environ-
mental claims management company,
has
developed an integrated communications
system
that can save critical time
during hazmat emergen-
cies and improve incident
management.
Called the Electronic Emergency
Response Man-
agement System, the patent-pending
system
combines satellite-tracking
technology, wireless
communications, and 24/7 access
to secure online
databases. The system is based
on Spill Center’s
proprietary spill management
systems, trained staff
of compliance associates,
and extensive online
resources.
It was designed to provide
fast access to informa-
tion needed to expedite response
and remediation
of hazmat spills. The system
also promises to bring
emergency responders to the
scene of incidents
– even weapons of mass destruction
attacks – faster
and better prepared than ever
before, according to
Spill Center.
At the conference, Moses will
discuss Spill Center’s
plans to launch a hazmat tracking
center in cooper-
ation with technology leaders
QUALCOMM and
COMPAQ. The new service will
benefit transporters,
shippers and emergency responders,
he said.
Moses and other conference
speakers will address
the critical issues of how
technology and communi-
cations tools can improve
both the security of
hazardous materials and rapid
response to incidents.
Speakers and panel sessions
will outline practical
ways in which technology and
communications
solutions providers can meet
the demand for inte-
grated tools, products and
services.
The E-Safety Conference is
sponsored by the
ComCARE Alliance in association
with the Institute
for International Research.
